WHAT IS LIPOLYSIS INJECTION?
Injection lipolysis is a treatment for double chin or chin fat that chemically reduces the number of fat cells around the injection site. The chemical, called deoxycholic acid, results in fat cell disruption and death. Currently, it is the FDA-approved for treatment of the area underneath the chin to eliminate what is known as a “double chin.” A commonly known type of injection lipolysis is Belkyra.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for injection lipolysis is someone who wants small areas of excess fat or localized deposits removed. Injection lipolysis is a tool best used for individuals who opt to have less invasive procedures and wish to avoid anesthesia. It is important to understand that it may take several months to achieve the desired results.

Treatment Process for Lipolysis Injections
Many of our patients see a noticeable difference in the amount of fat literally “melted away” from the very first session.
There is no downtime, but patients may experience swelling, bruising, pain, redness and feel areas of hardness that typically soften with time. Fat reduction is typically visible by eight weeks.
The amount of treatment necessary depends on each person and the thickness of fat deposits present. However, generally a series of 2-4 treatments are required around 4-6 weeks apart to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.
