WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA?

PRP is a high concentration of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. A small amount of blood is drawn and the red cells are isolated from the platelet-rich plasma. Since the autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is processed from the patient’s own blood, there is no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.

The internal essence of your blood contains life-giving fundamental protein growth factors. PRP utilizes a leading edge, patented technology that is specifically designed. With a simple, quick and advantageous process, your PRP professional is able to derive a high concentration of biological nutrient-rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma.

Acne Scarring & PRP

While most of us have had acne during our pubescent years and have it go away, many of us suffer from the scars the acne left behind. Using Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to treat acne scars is the answer to correcting deep, pitted acne blemishes and making them disappear. PRP will help rejuvenate your acne scars naturally by harnessing the power of nature: using the platelet-rich plasma within your own blood sample to promote wound healing and skin regeneration.

Using PRP can help you correct acne scars including:

  • Ice-pick scars

  • Rolling scars

  • Boxcar scars

  • Atrophic scars

  • Hypertrophic / keloid scars

HOW IS PRP PERFORMED?

Step One - Consultation: Consult with an Injection Specialist to consult on your medical history, goals, assess the area you would like treated, and answer any questions you have.

Step Two - Blood Draw & Injection:  Injection can happen the same day as the consultation or you may book a follow-up injection visit. Our injector specialist will conduct a facial and skin analysis to determine injection areas based on your goals and anatomy. To obtain the plasma, our practitioner draws an amount of blood similar to what is required for a basic lab test. The practitioner places the blood into a centrifuge and spins the blood at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. The plasma is now ready to be injected (via micro-needling or hair-like needle) to treatment area.

Step Three - Recovery & Results: There is no down time, but the injection site may be a bit red with some swelling/bruising which will subside in a few days. It can take up to 7 days to fully take effect. Some patients only require a single treatment once a year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with more significant skin-care concerns, such as acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.
